The main objective of setting up the Navodaya Vidyalaya System is to provide good quality modern education, including a strong component of culture, inculcation of values, awareness of the environment, adventure activities, and physical education to the talented children predominantly from rural areas without regard to their family’s socio-economic condition. It is an attempt to provide equitable access to quality education for all children. The system aims at producing well-rounded personalities with an innate ability for leadership among the less privileged and neglected sections of rural India.
